Meet Fauzia Khan, Founder of Shilpidea

Hi, I’m Fauzia Khan—a mother of three, homemaker, blogger, and the founder of Shilpidea.
I started blogging in 2021 with a simple goal: to share easy craft ideas that people could try at home. Whether you’re making a handmade decoration, planning a creative activity with your children, or giving an everyday object a new purpose, I want to help you find something you’ll enjoy creating.
Shilpidea brings together my love of crafts and the business I’ve built around that passion.
My Craft Journey Started with Paper Quilling
My first craft was a paper quilling project, and it became the starting point of my creative journey. I loved seeing simple strips of paper turn into shapes, patterns, and decorative designs.
For me, quilling is one of the most satisfying crafts. Rolling the paper, shaping each piece, and bringing everything together makes the process just as enjoyable as the finished creation.
To help others take that first step, I created a complete paper quilling Tutorial for Beginners. It introduces the basics so you can begin your own creative journey, even if you’ve never tried quilling before.
Here’s a quilling craft video from my Shilpidea YouTube channel to inspire you:

Why I Started Shilpidea
As I explored more crafts, I wanted a place to share ideas and help other people discover the pleasure of making something themselves. That led me to start Shilpidea in 2021.
As a mother and homemaker, I know that creative projects need to fit around everyday life. Sometimes you have an afternoon to try something new; other times, you want a small project you can enjoy in a little spare time.
That’s why Shilpidea focuses on approachable inspiration for home decor, recycled crafts, seasonal decorations, and other handmade projects. My goal is to help you discover possibilities and adapt them to your own home and style.
More Than 3,200 Craft Ideas Shared
Since launching Shilpidea, I’ve shared more than 3,200 individual craft ideas across the blog’s articles and collections.
These ideas explore different ways to decorate, reuse materials, make gifts, and enjoy creative time at home. From paper crafts to upcycled planters, I hope each collection gives you something new to consider.
You don’t have to recreate every detail exactly. Choose the colors you love, work with the materials you have, and add your own personal touch. That’s part of what makes crafting so rewarding.
How My Craft Passion Turned into Real Income
What began as an interest in crafts has grown into an income-generating business. Today, my work brings together three connected parts of Shilpidea:
The blog: I publish craft ideas and inspiration, helping readers find projects to explore while earning income from the blog.
The store: I run the Shilpidea Shop, offering high-quality craft materials to help people bring their ideas to life.
The YouTube channel: I share craft videos that let viewers watch projects take shape, adding another source of income to the business.
Each part supports a different step in the creative process—from finding an idea to choosing supplies and watching how a craft is made.
Building this business has taken time and consistent effort. It has given me a way to contribute financially while doing something I enjoy, and I’m proud to keep developing it.
Balancing Motherhood, Home, and a Creative Business
Raising three children, managing a household, and running a blog and store keeps life busy. Creativity gives me a space to pursue my own interests alongside those responsibilities.
My experience has also shaped how I think about Shilpidea. I want readers to feel welcome to start small, learn as they go, and enjoy their progress.
A handmade project doesn’t need to be perfect to be meaningful. The time spent creating—and the satisfaction of making something yourself—can be just as valuable as the result.
